It’s hard to believe I have already been at BCPL for one year! As the Community Events Liaison for Youth Services, I spend most of my time at the Main Library, but I’m fortunate to get to travel to the other branches as well. Spending time at all our locations allows me to work with so many different people, and getting to know everyone makes my job that much more fun. BCPL has been a perfect fit for what I was looking for and has allowed me to feel a sense of pride in what I do. It is very rewarding to know that I am assisting in quality programming for BCPL families.
I grew up on the west side of Cincinnati and was born into a very musical household. Music is a huge part of how my family communicates. I remember during all of the craziest times in my life, that the one constant was music. This passion eventually drove me to become a music teacher which was amazing. I have so many wonderful memories of my students and their performances. I would not trade that time in my life for the world. During my last two years of teaching, I went back to school to get my Masters in Arts Administration which is when I realized how much I wanted to work in a nonprofit organization. Once I finished my degree and saw the open position at BCPL, there was no question that I was going to apply for it and the rest is history!
Last year I married the love of my life. We had a Disney-themed wedding because we are huge Disney nerds. I have loved Disney ever since I can remember and basically have convinced my husband to love it just as much. He proposed in front of Cinderella’s Castle at Magic Kingdom – a legitimate dream come true. My favorite Disney trip that we have taken so far is to Disneyland Paris. It was beyond magical!
Quality time with family and friends is always my top priority. I am blessed to have the best! In my spare time, I listen to and play music. My husband plays guitar, so we play and sing a lot together. Live music is my jam! Arts and theater are other loves of mine. I enjoy being around the “arts scene” in downtown Cincinnati. I love board games of all sorts, but watch out if you play with me, because I am super competitive.
In more recent news, my husband and I got a puppy! Her name is Luna, and she is a Mini Bernedoodle. She brings so much love and laughter to our lives!
