Things You Never Knew About Your Library

Dinosaurs: Land of Fire and Ice Exhibit

The Library goes Prehistoric with Dinosaurs: Land of Fire and Ice! On display at the Main Library, 1786 Burlington Pike in Burlington, the exhibit is accessible during open hours through January 9, 2022.

The life-size exhibit allows young paleontologists to travel back in time to explore the Age of the Dinosaurs.  They encounter unfamiliar landscapes, touchable dinosaurs of all shapes and sizes, and opportunities to investigate clues about what the dinosaurs left behind.

The dinosaur environments include the flora and fauna that were present 65-70 million years ago, during the end of the Cretaceous period (when the last dinosaurs roamed the earth), and represent areas that are now part of North America.  The habitats and the field research station build on a child’s innate curiosity about dinosaurs while promoting scientific thinking and learning.

Be sure to pick up a checklist, available around the exhibit, that allows you to track each section of the exhibit on both the first and second floors.
