Donald Trame is one of our newest members of BCPL’s Board of Trustees. Being a resident of Boone County for over 30 years, he has a genuine appreciation for the Library. “I am truly amazed at the quantity and variety of cultural, educational and participatory events presented at all the branches. Displays of model cars and LEGO art and dinosaurs enhance any library visit,” says Don. He finds it satisfying to visit the library with his grandkids, listen to them interact with the staff, gather their books and check them out with their own cards.
Don is a graduate of Rockhurst University in Kansas City and has held chief financial management positions for 40 years. His industry experience includes education, construction, real estate, manufacturing, leasing and sales/service. Don retired from the 3M Company in 2014, yet still provides financial consulting services for several clients.
Don and his wife Karen have three daughters that attended Boone County High School. There he was involved with the marching band and its Booster organization, in addition to acting as a judge at speech and drama competitions even after his daughter graduated. During his free time, Don enjoys bike riding and walking 5Ks with his family. Because he spends a good deal of time in the car, Don is an avid user of audiobooks, but also likes books and eBooks.
While serving on the Board, Don truly wishes for BCPL to continue their commitment to the community and its varied interests through educational experiences.
