Keith Palazzo is a talented fine art artist based in Burlington, Kentucky. He relocated to Northern Kentucky in 1985 from the swamplands of lower Louisiana. A retired airline pilot and former Boone County bus driver, Keith now enjoys dedicating his time more fully to his passion for painting.

Keith’s artistic journey began as a teen in the early 1970s, inspired by basic lessons and encouragement from his grandmother. Apart from her early guidance, Keith is mostly self-taught. Over the decades, he has developed a distinctive style, working primarily with oil and acrylic paints. He also explores watercolor, a medium he finds both challenging and rewarding due to its fluid, unpredictable nature.

Much of Keith’s inspiration comes from his extensive travels across the beautiful United States. For over 35 years, he and his wife, Debbie, have toured the country in their camper, discovering the wonderful national parks and “off-the-beaten-path” places. These adventures have inspired his passion for landscapes on his canvas. Additionally, his love of the sea is reflected in his seascapes and water scenes. On occasion, he enjoys painting animals and birds for a change in pace.

Photography plays a key role in Keith’s creative process. His camera is his favorite friend, second only to his wife and family.

While some of his artwork is not for sale, Keith is happy to reproduce them or work from a personal photo upon request. Completion time varies depending on the complexity of the painting and the number of orders, with some works taking 3 to 6 weeks to finish.

For inquiries, Keith can be reached at 859-760-0638 or Kpalazzo@twc.com.

The Curt Bessette Art Gallery is located on the first floor of the Main Library. It features work by regional and national artists as well as special, themed exhibits. The gallery gives local artists a chance to display their work for sale.

The namesake of the gallery, Curt Bessette, was a quiet child who spent many hours drawing and creating art of the people and scenes around him. As time passed, his interest in art and talent for various artistic styles only grew until he became known by his peers as the Artist. Mr. Bessette also served on the Boone County Public Library Board of Trustees from July 2016 to February 2017.

Please visit bcpl.org/bessette-gallery for more information about the space and how to display your work.
