For 50 years, Boone County Public Library (BCPL) has been a cornerstone of our community, providing valuable resources and fostering a love of learning. As we celebrate our 50th anniversary this October, we want to express our deepest gratitude to you, our community. For half a century, you have supported us, making BCPL a vital part of Boone County’s fabric.

From our humble beginnings in a Florence feed store in 1974 to the six branches we proudly operate today, BCPL has always been more than just a place to borrow books. We’ve grown alongside you, offering early literacy programs, educational resources, and preserving our county’s local history. We continually strive to meet the changing needs of our community, embrace new technologies and offer a welcoming space for everyone.

Your involvement and support have been the foundation of our success. Whether you’ve attended our Storytimes and events, participated in our Summer Reading Program, used our resources, or simply shared a love of books, you’ve helped us achieve our mission: Discover, Explore, Experience a lifetime of learning at Boone County Public Library.

As we celebrate the past 50 years, we eagerly look to the future, excited to continue serving our community and growing with you and future generations. Thank you, Boone County, for making BCPL a vibrant community hub. Here’s to many more years of growing, learning, connecting and discovering. Together, we will continue making a lasting impact on our community.
