Eric W. Richardson brings decades of professional expertise and a lifelong passion for libraries to his role as a founding member of the Boone County Public Library Foundation Board. A partner in the Litigation Group at Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease LLP in Cincinnati, Eric has spent more than 29 years representing clients in complex commercial and class action litigation, intellectual property matters, data breach cases and more. In addition to his legal practice, he has served as a Special Justice to the Kentucky Supreme Court and taught as an adjunct faculty member at NKU’s Chase College of Law.
Eric is a long-standing supporter of BCPL. He served on the Library’s Board of Trustees from 2013 to 2021, including as Board President, and became a founding member of the BCPL Foundation in 2022 to continue supporting the library’s mission. Eric was drawn to serve on the Library Board because the library provides equal access to resources and materials and libraries have provided that to Eric since he was young. Eric did not have a lot growing up, but he always had access to the library and could check out books, music and research. The library was the great equalizer for him and he feels indebted to local libraries.
A lifelong Northern Kentuckian and Boone County resident since 2002, Eric lives in Florence with his wife, Tracy, a Boone County native. Together with their daughter, the family enjoys road trips across the country and has visited 48 of the 50 states—only Alaska and Hawaii remain.
