
Jim Henning serves as Treasurer on the Boone County Public Library Foundation Board. A retiree of Duke Energy, Jim brings over 30 years of executive leadership in the electric utility industry. He held roles including President of Duke Energy Ohio and Kentucky, and led departments ranging from Field Operations to Community Relations.
Jim previously served on the BCPL Board of Trustees (2008–2016), where he helped increase program attendance by 65%. A passionate advocate for childhood literacy, Jim believes in the power of year-round reading and library programs to support youth development in our community.
A graduate of Leadership Northern Kentucky and Leadership Kentucky, Jim remains a committed civic leader. He has served on numerous community boards, including the Dan Beard Council Boy Scouts of America, ArtsWave, OneNKY Alliance and REDI Cincinnati. He currently sits on the board of BeNKY, Northern Kentucky’s economic development organization.
Jim and his wife Christine are long-term educational volunteers at the Dinsmore Homestead, sharing their passion for Kentucky history with local school groups. They reside in Florence, Kentucky. In his spare time, Jim enjoys running, reading, golfing and traveling.
