I have been with BCPL for 25 years! I started as a Circulation Assistant at the Lents Branch where I worked with great people and made lasting friendships. The staff knew all the families and greeted them by name! After time, I moved to the Main Library as a Public Service Associate, and for the last several years I have managed the Pages. I still enjoy working with the public and seeing familiar faces walk through the door.

I discovered my love of reading in 2nd grade while reading The Happy Hollisters mysteries. Since that day, there has always been a book I was reading. As a child I was within walking distance of my local library, and I spent many afternoons reading there. I still remember how excited I was when they opened a children’s section. They had bean bag chairs that I would plop on with a book, probably Trixie Belden, and lose myself in the story.
While I love my job, my great love and main focus is my family. My husband Mike, of almost 40 years, and I love to travel. We always agree on where to go and how to spend our time there. We have visited just about every state together, as well as Europe. Paris and Venice have been my favorites so far. I have many fond memories of taking our 5 daughters on vacations with us. They loved our three-week camping trip out West. After all the laundry and coming up with meals, I said I would never camp again and I haven’t! Now our 5 grandchildren are included in our travels. They love the beach vacations the most.
My other hobbies include at-home spa days, talking with a friend or family over lunch, going to movies, playing board and card games, trying recipes, and crafting.
