Born and raised in Kentucky, I attended library school at the University of Kentucky and began my career in a law firm library. I later moved to the Pacific Northwest, where I worked in a busy public library system and discovered my passion for Technical Services and Collection Development. I’m happy to be back in Kentucky and have received such a warm welcome into the BCPL family. The things I missed most while I was away include Skyline Chili, thunderstorms, cardinals and lightning bugs.

I love to read widely across many genres. Sci-fi and fantasy are my favorites, but I also enjoy literary fiction, romance, historical fiction, mystery and narrative nonfiction. I’m especially fond of audiobook memoirs, particularly when they’re read by the author, and I often check out the physical book as well in case there are photos.

Outside of the library, I enjoy spending time with my family, hiking, birdwatching and trying new restaurants. I also appreciate puzzles of all kinds, especially jigsaw and crossword puzzles. I recently completed my first 3,000-piece jigsaw puzzle, which was almost too big for my table. I love pizza, gummy candy and pan dulce. In high school, I worked scooping ice cream at Graeter’s, and I still visit often for a scoop of black raspberry chip!
