Every day at the library is unpredictable–and I love it! As someone with many different hobbies and interests, I could never decide what I wanted to be when I “grew up” until I realized that librarians can do anything!
Although originally from Indiana, where I earned my Master’s in Library Science from IUPUI, home has been in Cincinnati for the last ten years. I have worked at several different libraries in the Cincinnati area including Mason Public Library, MidPointe Library System and Cincinnati Public Library. I fell in love with Youth Services because I love to perform, and let’s be honest, kids make such fun audiences! After all that hopping around between libraries, I have finally found my place at BCPL. The staff and patrons are so welcoming and have such a deep passion for the library.
I am working on my Master’s of Fine Arts in Creative Writing for Children and Young Adults from Hamline University, where I have had the honor of participating in workshops and one-on-ones with published authors such as Tae Keller (How to Trap a Tiger) and Laura Ruby (Bone Gap).
I’m a proud mom to my 7-year-old daughter and 20-year-old stepson. My husband, a librarian at Dayton Metro Library, and I love reading, writing and creating art together. We recently tied the knot in Iceland, and I practically had to drag him back to Cincinnati afterward! We share our home with two dogs, a giant Lab-Mastiff mix and a spirited corgi.
