On October 14, 1974, under direction of Librarian Jane Smith, Boone County Public Library opened its doors at 2 Girard Street in Florence, Kentucky. On that day, more than 180 patrons visited the library. Fifty years later, Boone County Public Library is made up of six locations serving the county. Now that is a reason to celebrate!
