Lawrence Rosenthal has been a faculty member at Northern Kentucky University’s Salmon P. Chase College of Law since 2003 and currently serves as the Associate Dean for Academics, a role he has held since 2008. His legal and academic journey began after graduating from Vanderbilt University Law School in 1993, when he moved to Tampa, Florida, to practice law. After three years in Tampa, he relocated to Washington, D.C., where he worked as an attorney and earned a graduate law degree from the Georgetown University Law Center. In 1998, Lawrence returned to Florida to teach at Stetson University College of Law. Five years later, he joined the faculty at NKU-Chase, where he has remained ever since.
A Boone County resident since moving to Kentucky in 2003, Lawrence joined the BCPL Foundation Board in September 2022 after being recruited by fellow board member Eric Richardson, whom he knew through their shared work at NKU-Chase. His prior community involvement includes serving on the Telecommunications Board of Northern Kentucky. He saw the Foundation Board as a meaningful opportunity to contribute to his community.
Lawrence enjoys golfing, fishing, traveling and true crime binge-watching. He’s also a devoted college hockey fan, especially when it comes to his alma mater, Union College in upstate New York.
Lawrence and his wife, Lorraine, recently celebrated 30 years together and nearly 27 years of marriage. Lorraine, a novelist originally from Queens, New York, has authored four novels including Other Words for Love and Charmed. Lawrence grew up in Massachusetts, where his mother and sister still reside.
