Embroidery is an easy way to decorate, personalize or customize an item.
The Brother Embroidery Machine (Model PE800), equipped with seven English fonts and 138 built-in designs, can embroider and applique designs up to 5 x 7 in size. Designs can be brought in on a flash drive using the following acceptable file types: pes, phc, dst.
There are currently 36 Brother embroidery thread colors available for use at no charge.

Embroidery projects require a stabilizer to keep designs from puckering. We have tear-away and cut-away stabilizers available for $.25 per sheet. Be sure to research your project to determine if other stabilizers (such as water soluble) are recommended. This type of stabilizer can be purchased at fabric stores.
A BCPL library card in good standing is needed to use the equipment in the BIL. Don’t have one? Stop by any of our locations to sign up!
Embroidering a pre-made item will depend on being able to isolate the area for the embroidery so that one layer of fabric is within or on top of the hoop. Watching YouTube videos can go a long way towards helping you determine what projects are feasible with the PE800.
Visit the Brother website for more information about the machine. And check out the Pattern List of pre-programmed patterns and fonts you can choose from, as well as the thread colors for each pattern.
